Ooolala...Overview and Outcomes for week One

I spent a lot of time this week setting up my blog, website, and wiki. I probably never spent so much time sitting in front of the computer and not really getting that far. I have come to realize that doing things on the computer is a tedious task. I studied all the tools on Moodle and applied them in all that i did this week. Teaching literacy with technology has become a great tool to use in a classroom. Even though i do not have my own right now, everything i learn from this course will help me in my own class greatly.
The moodle site is great. I love how you just click on the link and help is on its way. I also liked how we all had to introduce ourselves to each other on the Moodle site. By doing this, i found that i got a bit more familiar with the site and was better prepared for future assignments. The Educational Philosophies Self Assessment was a neat little test. I found myself answering many of the questions with a "strongly agree" answer. I firmly believe that students should be the number one concern and priority to all teachers. They are the future and it is important to instill qualities in them to make them lifelong readers, writers, and learners. All of my scores for this assessment were high, which i guess indicates that i have high educational philosophies. I guess that is right. I believe strongly in many things and educating students to the best of my ability is just one of them.
Overall, i believe that i met all the outcomes for week one. It was a tough week and have been reflecting a lot but know that i have learned a lot as well. I already know that my knowledge has enhanced about different ways to teach technology to children, and this is only the beginning!
